SNOQUALMIE, WA – Snoqualmie Valley Health is proud to recognize Chris Postiglione, RN, as a recipient of The DAISY Award® for Extraordinary Nurses. This prestigious recognition, presented by the DAISY Foundation, celebrates nurses whose clinical skill and compassion make a lasting impact on the patients and families they serve.
The following is an excerpt from Chris’s DAISY award nomination:
“While caring for a patient in the ED who had not had access to basic hygiene for quite some time, Chris went far beyond providing excellent medical care. She took the extra step to ensure the patient was able to shower, restoring not just comfort, but dignity during a vulnerable moment. Her advocacy did NOT stop there. Noticing the patient’s worn-out shoes, she proactively reached out to a local business to ask if the store might have any gently used or returned footwear available. Thanks to her efforts, the patient received a new pair of shoes, and incredibly, the business was so moved that they donated additional pairs for SVH to provide to future patients in need. This is a powerful example of what patient-centered care truly looks like. Chris’s empathy, resourcefulness, and dedication reflect the very best of our team and our mission.”
Snoqualmie Valley Health is proud to recognize Chris for her exceptional care and the meaningful impact she makes in the lives of our patients.
“At Snoqualmie Valley Health, recognizing the extraordinary work of our nurses is more than a tradition, it’s a reflection of the deep appreciation we have for the care and compassion they provide every day,” said Tricia Ralston, Chief Nursing Executive at Snoqualmie Valley Health. “Our nursing team consistently demonstrates professionalism, empathy, and dedication in every patient interaction. I’m honored to celebrate our DAISY Award recipient, Chris, whose remarkable emergency care expertise and commitment to personalized patient care truly represent the highest standards of nursing excellence.”
Ralston added, “We are equally proud to acknowledge our exceptional DAISY nominees, Lorie O’Daniel, RN, and Crissa Mae Gonzalez, RN, for the compassion, clinical excellence, and unwavering support they bring to our patients and community. Their dedication serves as an inspiration and highlights the profound impact nurses make each and every day.”
The DAISY Foundation is a not-for-profit organization based in Glen Ellen, California, established in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, who passed away at age 33 from complications of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP). The compassion and expert care Patrick received from nurses during his illness inspired his family to create the DAISY Award program as a way to say thank you to nurses everywhere.
Today, over 4,600 healthcare facilities and nursing schools around the world celebrate nurses through the DAISY Award program. In addition to recognizing direct care nurses, the Foundation honors nurse-led teams, nurse leaders, educators, students, and those advancing health equity through various grants and awards.
