Why Regular Mammograms
Matter Mammograms help your care team evaluate breast tissue and identify changes that may need a closer look, sometimes before you notice symptoms. Regular screenings also allow radiologists to compare images over time, helping them recognize changes in your breast health. Even when you feel healthy, keeping up with recommended screenings is an important part of preventive care.
When Should You Get a Mammogram?
For many women, screening begins at age 40. How often you need a mammogram depends on your age, health history and individual risk factors. Talk with your healthcare provider about the screening schedule that’s right for you.
If you notice a new lump or another breast change, contact your provider rather than waiting for your next screening appointment.
NEW 3D Mammography (Tomosynthesis)
Snoqualmie Valley Health now offers advanced 3D mammography, also known as tomosynthesis, to improve early detection of breast cancer. This cutting-edge technology captures multiple images of the breast from different angles, allowing radiologists to view tissue layer by layer. It makes it easier to detect abnormalities in dense breast tissue and reduces the need for follow-up imaging.
Our 3D mammography is performed on-site by experienced technologists using state-of-the-art equipment with built-in AI algorithms that enhance accuracy and image quality.
