SNOQUALMIE, WA – Snoqualmie Valley Health is proud to expand its commitment to community wellness with the launch of a dedicated Kidney Care program. Designed to address a wide range of kidney-related conditions, this initiative brings specialized nephrology services closer to home, ensuring expert care for residents of the Snoqualmie Valley.
Leading the Kidney Care program is Dr. Megha Shah, a skilled nephrologist, who brings extensive experience in hospital medicine, healthcare leadership, and ethics. As the Medical Director of Hospital Services at Snoqualmie Valley Health, Dr. Shah emphasizes a collaborative approach, working closely with cardiologists, endocrinologists, and other specialists to deliver comprehensive care that addresses symptoms and promotes long-term health.
The kidneys play a crucial role in filtering blood, removing waste, and maintaining fluid balance within the body. Recognizing the importance of kidney health, Snoqualmie Valley Health’s Kidney Care program is fully equipped to diagnose and treat numerous conditions, including:
- Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) Stage 3 and Above: Managing moderate to severe kidney function loss.
- Proteinuria: Addressing the presence of protein in urine, an early indicator of kidney damage.
- Poorly Controlled Hypertension: Treating high blood pressure that may contribute to kidney issues.
- Electrolyte Imbalance: Correcting imbalances that can signal impaired kidney function.
- Kidney Stones: Providing non-interventional management to reduce future risks.
- Post-Kidney Transplant Care: Offering ongoing nephrology care essential for transplant recipients.
