Rehabilitation

At Snoqualmie Valley Health, your therapist will design a program customized for your medical condition and personal needs. Whether you’ve recently experienced an injury or have been dealing with chronic pain, therapy and rehabilitation can be an enormously helpful part of your recovery.

Our Therapy & Rehabilitation department offers offer both inpatient and outpatient therapy and is open 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. To schedule an appointment for any of Snoqualmie Valley Health’s therapy services, please call 425-831-3572

Our Swing Bed Program provides rehabilitation and therapy services based on patient’s individual needs and can include a combination of physical, occupational, and speech therapies.

Rehabilitation is a vital part of recovery at Snoqualmie Valley Health. Through our Swing Bed Program and inpatient services, our therapy team partners with your providers and nurses to help you regain strength, function, and independence before returning home.

Physical Therapy (PT)
Our physical therapists focus on mobility, strength, and balance. They guide safe movement and tailored exercises to rebuild endurance, prevent complications, and restore confidence in walking and transfers.

Occupational Therapy (OT)
Occupational therapists help you practice everyday tasks like dressing, bathing, and meal preparation. They provide strategies, adaptive equipment recommendations, and training to make life at home safer and easier.

Speech Therapy (ST)
Speech-language pathologists address communication, cognition, and swallowing challenges. They use exercises and techniques to improve speech, memory, problem-solving, and safe swallowing, helping you stay engaged and independent.

Preparing You for a Safe Discharge
A major part of our inpatient team’s work is ensuring you can leave the hospital safely and confidently. This includes:

  • Caregiver training to teach family or support persons how to assist you safely at home.
  • Equipment planning to identify and order items such as walkers, shower chairs, or adaptive utensils before you go home.
  • Personalized education and home exercise plans to keep your recovery on track after discharge.
  • Close coordination with your providers and family to make sure your transition is seamless and supported.

Melanie Boehler, DPT

Specializing in Physical Therapy in adults and children

Melanie graduated with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California in 2015. She has experience working with children who may have delayed milestones, torticollis, toe walking, autism, poor balance and frequent falls, impaired posture or scoliosis, effects from cancer and treatment, orthotic needs and more. Melanie has two young kids who inspire her to be a fun and engaging therapist.

Louise Clark, DPT

Louise earned her Bachelor of Arts in Allied Health with an emphasis in Health Equity and Public Health from Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, California, in 2018. She went on to complete her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in San Marcos, California, graduating in 2024.

Before joining Snoqualmie Valley Health, Louise worked as a physical therapist in a subacute rehabilitation setting in Seattle, where she primarily treated post-operative orthopedic patients and individuals in the early to mid stages of Parkinson’s Disease. Prior to beginning her career in physical therapy, she spent several years as an outdoor guide, leading rafting, climbing, and backpacking trips throughout California.

Louise was drawn to Snoqualmie Valley Health for its strong sense of community, commitment to high-quality care, and dedication to giving therapists the time and space needed to help patients thrive. She became a physical therapist to invest deeply in each patient’s recovery journey, and she finds great fulfillment in seeing people regain function and rebuild their lives after significant health events.

Originally from Portland, Oregon, Louise now lives in Seattle with her partner, Jenna, and their pets, Louis the dog and Wendell Berry the cat. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, biking, skiing, gardening, and swimming in alpine lakes.

Andrea Ennis, DPT

Andrea Ennis is a Doctor of Physical Therapy originally from Regina, Saskatchewan. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Wellness from Burman University in Alberta and a Bachelor of Science in Health Science from Andrews University in Michigan, where she also earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.

Andrea’s professional journey has taken her across the United States as a Travel Physical Therapist, with experience in Michigan, Tennessee, Alaska, Oregon, Colorado, and California. Now settled in Washington, Andrea chose Snoqualmie Valley Health because it offers the opportunity to provide one-on-one care and a collaborative, interdisciplinary team environment. She values SVH’s commitment to continuing education and appreciates being close to outdoor adventures along the I-90 corridor.

Specializing in lumbopelvic biomechanics, particularly in relation to low back pain, pregnancy, and postpartum care, Andrea is also passionate about pain education and chronic pain management. She believes in empowering her patients through education, helping them understand their conditions and gain the autonomy to manage their recovery.

Andrea is married and expecting her first child, a little girl, at the beginning of 2025. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, rock climbing, snowboarding, and volunteering at free PT clinics. She also has a strong passion for teaching and mentoring future physical therapists.

Occupational Therapy

Lydia Guengerich, OT

Lydia grew up in Victoria, British Columbia, and brings a strong clinical foundation to Snoqualmie Valley Health. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with high distinction from the University of British Columbia, specializing in clinical psychology and neuroscience. She then completed her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, where her capstone project focused on developing best-practice guidelines for family involvement in mental health treatment.

Before entering clinical practice, Lydia worked as a Medical Office Assistant at Health Care on Yates in Victoria and volunteered with Rock Steady Boxing, an adaptive boxing program supporting individuals living with Parkinson’s Disease.

Lydia was drawn to Snoqualmie Valley Health for its collaborative culture, commitment to patient-centered outcomes, and proximity to the outdoors. She finds it deeply meaningful to help individuals regain the ability to perform the daily activities most important to them, whether that’s returning to exercise, dressing independently, or safely preparing meals. She has a special interest in helping reduce fall risk, a leading cause of hospitalization in older adults, and is passionate about the intersection of mental health and meaningful activity.

Outside of work, Lydia enjoys exploring the Pacific Northwest through backpacking, hiking, rock climbing, camping, cycling, and diving into a good board game.

Jamie Hitchcock, SLP

Specializing in Speech Language Pathology 

Jamie graduated with a master’s degree in communication sciences and Disorders from Western Washington University in 2016 and is currently completing a clinical doctorate program in Speech Language Pathology from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. She has experience in providing speech therapy services to the adult and geriatric population across a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings, with primary clinical focus in: 

  • Aphasia and other acquired language disorders
  • Swallowing impairments (dysphagia)
  • Cognitive-communication impairments (memory, attention, executive functioning)
  • Dementia and behavioral management
  • Speech and voice disorders
  • Post-stroke recovery and progressive neurological disease management 

Her interests outside of work include creative writing, gardening, playing soccer, and hiking with her dog.

Speech Language Pathologist

Becca Kneepkens, CCC-SLP

Becca Kneepkens, MS, CCC-SLP, is a Speech-Language Pathologist with a pediatric emphasis and a passion for early speech, language, and feeding development. She earned her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Washington, where she focused on pediatric care.

Becca’s clinical interests include infant feeding, orofacial myofunctional disorders, early speech and language development, and play-based, family-centered therapy. She is also a Certified Lactation Counselor and Feeding Therapist, bringing a collaborative and holistic approach to care. Her philosophy, “work and see,” reflects her belief in partnering closely with families and meeting children where they are.

Originally from Issaquah, Becca values Snoqualmie Valley Health’s strong community focus and team-based approach to care. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, two young children, and two dogs, as well as trail running, skiing, and traveling.

Janna Stombaugh, OT

Upper Extremity Orthopedic Management, including Surgical Interventions and the use of Dynamic Splinting

Janna is the Lead Occupational Therapist at Snoqualmie Valley Health. She earned her degree in Occupational Therapy from Eastern Washington University in 2004 and has since developed extensive experience across a variety of settings, including acute care, skilled nursing facilities, home health, subacute care, and outpatient therapy.

Janna is a certified ergonomics assessment specialist and provides workstation evaluations for hospital employees. She has a special interest in neurological impairments, upper extremity conditions, and working with amputees through prosthetic training. She is also passionate about helping older adults achieve their highest possible level of independence.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, skiing, biking, running, camping and gardening.

Sarah Richardson, DPT

Sarah Richardson, DPT, is a licensed physical therapist with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Western Carolina University in Asheville, North Carolina. She is passionate about supporting patients in achieving meaningful, individualized goals that enhance their overall quality of life.

Sarah has a particular interest in geriatric care, including gait and balance training. She also has advanced training in pelvic health through the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute, equipping her to work with patients experiencing pelvic pain, incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and post-operative rehabilitation needs. Her approach to care is rooted in compassion, empowerment, and evidence-based practice.

Outside of the clinic, Sarah enjoys backpacking, hiking, and traveling internationally. She is also an avid aerial artist and juggler, and makes it her mission to meet every dog she encounters.

Speech Language Pathologist

Miranda Basile, CCC-SLP

Miranda Basile, M.Ed., CCC-SLP, is a Speech-Language Pathologist passionate about helping patients restore communication and safely enjoy meals, which are essential parts of daily life, identity, and connection.

Originally from Las Vegas, Nevada, Miranda moved to Washington in August 2025. She earned her undergraduate degree in Public Health from the University of Nevada, Reno, and completed her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology at Nevada State University. During her training, she helped establish speech therapy services at a newly opened short-term post-acute hospital and participated in research focused on developing cognitive assessments for individuals with mild traumatic brain injuries. Her research was accepted for poster presentation at the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) annual conference.

Miranda chose Snoqualmie Valley Health for its strong commitment to patients, employees, and the surrounding community. She finds deep fulfillment in supporting patients through rehabilitation, including helping individuals regain confidence in communication after life-changing events such as stroke.

Outside of work, Miranda enjoys crocheting, reading, and spending time with her husband and their two cats, Asher and Aida.

Jessica Horan, OTR/L

Jess Horan, MS, OTR/L, is an Occupational Therapist who is passionate about helping patients feel empowered, independent, and connected during some of their most vulnerable moments. She earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Occupational Therapy from the University of New Hampshire.

Jess began her career in Birth to Three occupational therapy in Rhode Island before transitioning to acute care at the University of Washington. There, she helped support the initiation of ECMO mobility protocols in the Cardiac ICU. She later worked at Seattle Children’s Hospital across inpatient rehabilitation, acute care, and cancer care units before joining Snoqualmie Valley Health.

She chose SVH for the opportunity to help build something new in a growth-focused, community-centered environment. Jess believes meaningful progress starts with connection and that strong therapeutic relationships are essential to helping patients regain independence and confidence.

Originally from Massachusetts and New Hampshire, Jess moved to Washington in 2015 and now lives in North Bend with her husband, daughter, and two dogs. Outside of work, she loves skiing in the winter and spending time outdoors year-round running, mountain biking, and exploring nature with her family.
